A second year group from Athy College make the trip to Croke Park as part of their end of year tour. Thanks to Mr McDonagh, Year Head for organising same.
Athy College is shocked and saddened by the sudden and untimely death of Rubi Rahkman, father of past student Laura, current students Kieran and Miriam, and incoming student Erin. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. R.I.P.
Athy College Mini Triathlon: Many thanks to all who supported our recent fundraiser for school sports facilities. A total of €2400 was raised. Pictured below are two students who received a token of appreciation for the fundraising efforts.
Well done to students and Mr Higgins for representing Athy College at the Hike for Life event in Glendalough. KWETB annually holds this event to fundraise for the Mental Health organisations who support out 22 schools in Kildare and Wicklow. A lovely day for a hike and to help raise almost €9000 for the charities.
Congratulations to inspirational students and teachers from Athy College who were this evening honoured in NUI Maynooth. Inspirational teachers Brenda Sweeney and Natalie O'Neill were nominated by inspirational students students Inara Petersons and Daniel Scutaru respectively.
Also on the honours list were students were Hamish Munro, Grainne O'Rourke, Rebecca Leech, Maria Petrova, Grace Famose and Aoife Cahill. Well done to all. Congratulations to Aoife Cahill on winning Second Place in the Cecil Day Lewis Awards last Thursday. Aoife has always been among the prizewinners and we are very proud of her. We are so proud of so many of our students and staff who ran/walked the Darkness into Light 5k in Carlow at dawn this morning, in aid of such a worthy cause.
Congratulations to Leaving Certificate students of 2015 who held their graduation ceremony last night. A most memorable event attended by parents, staff and members of religious communities. Thanks to all involved and best wishes to our students as the face examinations. More pics here.
Our Be Active Week in Athy College finished with the Campus Mile on Friday. Great to see so many young people including our friends from the primary schools accepting the challenge.
