Food for thought - no food for attendance! With almost 100 students maintaining full attendance it's time for a celebratory breakfast at Athy College. Well done to all who are regular attenders.

The recent Bake Day on January 19th, organised by classes Gorm and Buí, was a fantastic success as a fundraiser for Teach Íosa on Mount Offaly Street in Athy. The students worked like troopers in the morning to prepare all the lovely treats that sold out during lunchtime. Almost €210 was raised, and the class would like to thank everyone who supported the good cause, and to Ms Coffey and Mr Daly for giving permission.
Well done to Athy College Build a Bank team who visited Gaelscoil Atha - I last week to explain about banking with an interactive demonstration
Time to say goodbye "Sayonara" to our Japanese students who have been with us for the past two weeks. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have had them with us. Thanks to the organisers, the host families and Saporo High School for making this possible.
Many thanks to our Japanese students from Sappopo Nishi High School who gave our students a presentation on Japanese culture this week
Athy College welcomes 17 Japanese students and their teachers for an educational visit as we return from the Christmas holidays. This is the second visit by students from the prestigious Japanese "super science" college Sapporo Nishi High School in Hakkundai.
During their visit the students will attend classes, stay with local families and visit national landmarks. The Japanese college has chosen to return to Athy following the warm reception which they receives from the community on their last visit. |
