Congratulations to sixth years James O'Brien and Kevin Mulhall who completed their River Safety and Rescue 2 Certificate course over the weekend. In conjunction with Athy Rowing and Canoe Club many of our students have become very proficient in water related sports.
Congratulations to Athy College student Sarah Doyle Ryan on achieving an All Ireland medal today when the Kildare U16 Camogie defeated Carlow in the final. Well done Kildare. Well done Sarah
Examination results for Leaving Certificate 2016 will be available from the college from 9.30am on Wed 17th. We wish all of our students and all of those in the locality every success.

Robbie Smithers Wins.
Congratulations to former Athy College student Robbie Smithers who rode his first winner for his trainer, Mick Halford, on a horse called Castle Guest in the 5:05 at the Curragh Racecourse on Sunday 7th August. Robbie has been an apprentice in the Halford yard since he graduated from the Race Academy in 2014. All at Athy College have been watching his career progression with keen interest and we wish him well for the future. Emer has been accepted by the Race Academy and will begin her training for 2016/2017 on the 27th August. We wish her well for the future. Finally, Conor Casey who graduated from the Race Academy on the 24th June continues to make progress in Dermot Weld's yard. Athy College values it's link with the Race Academy and we hope to continue to provide students with an interest in the Equine Industry a means of furthering their career options. Congratulations to the Athy College debutantes who celebrated their Debs 2016 tonight. A wonderful group of students with both academic and social skills. The students assembled at the college for photos and refreshments before leaving for the main social event. More pics
With almost 100 foreign students visiting us this summer Athy College was delighted to join forces with Athy Rowing And Canoe Club to show off the River Barrow. Our students are loving the town and thanks to the host families and to the town for making it such a welcoming place.
