Athy College is glad to announce the creation of its new careers portal which is of great benefit to its students who can access their own personalised career planning. Many thanks to Guidance teacher Joanne Parry for this initiative
Athy College students celebrated European Day of Languages today. What a great opportunity to promote the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe.
Athy College is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our recent past pupils Kasey McConville. She was a spirited and gifted young lady whose loss is felt by students and staff of the college . Our deepest sympathies to Martin, Lizzie, Kerri and Kealan and the extended families. May she sleep in peace.
After school study begins on Monday next 9th Sept and takes place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4.pm until 5.45pm.
After school study is provided free of charge. Athy College is very proud of our choir "Voices" which performed for the Celebration of Volunteering at the Clanard Court Hotel. Well done to Miss Caesar and Mr O'Donnell and the singers. "Voices" are becoming an amazing group. Many thanks to Ryan Hennessy who took the time to take a pic with some of the choir members at the event.
Delivery of Junior Cert results has been delayed this year until FRIDAY 4th OCTOBER. Results will be available in schools and online on that day.

Over the coming weeks we will be visiting primary schools and inviting intending students and their parents to our Open Evening and Open Day on Sept 19th and 20th Completed forms should be returned by Fri 25th October 2019 at 4pm Delighted to get to congratulate past pupil Seamus Malone on his animation achievements on Thur night. Athy is famous pioneers like Shakeleton who opened new frontiers. In a different field we have now recognised another local hero who travelled the path less taken and followed his dream in the animation world. “Watership Down”, “Shaun the Sheep”, “Arthur Christmas””, Chicken Run”, “Wallace and Gromit” are among the animations he worked on and Emmys, Oscars and Golden Globes are among the awards. Athy College is proud of it’s celebrated son not just because of the awards or the fame but because he is one talented, humble and genuinely nice gentleman. Proud of your achievement, Seamus, but equally proud of the individual. An inspiration and role model to our students. Thanks again to another past pupil, Colm Walsh, for bringing this idea to fruition and to our "resident" choral group Beautiful Noise for their rendition of Shaun the Sheep! |
